Common questions

Does it work on a Mac, iPad or phone?

StitchWing works on Windows 10 (22H2) and Windows 11, and on macOS 13 Ventura or newer (Apple silicon or Intel). The on-device AI photo tools need macOS 14 Sonoma or newer. One purchase works on PC or Mac. iPad version coming soon.

When am I charged?

You’re charged when you buy. Own It is one payment; monthly and yearly plans renew until you cancel. See the buy page for the terms that apply to your purchase.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Anything you buy now has a refund window, and the length for each purchase is on the buy page under “What you get, and what happens if you change your mind”. Email support@stitchwing.com from the address on your account. If you pre-ordered, your pre-order payment is non-refundable now that StitchWing is out; see “If you pre-ordered” in Help.

Is there a free version?

There’s a free version for PC and Mac. No account, no card and no email address. It includes the chart editor, photo to chart, matching your colors to real yarn, Finished look, and printing your chart and key. It has limits on saved patterns and chart size; the current numbers are on the buy page. Written rows, clip art and Track progress come with the paid plans.

Do I need an account?

Not for the free version. Download StitchWing and start charting; nothing asks who you are. An account is for buying and for using your license on more than one computer: sign in inside StitchWing with the email you bought with to turn on your plan.

Do I need to be online?

Only to sign in. The free version needs no account and works offline. A paid license needs you online once, to sign in on each computer. Own It keeps working offline. All Access works offline until the date shown in Settings › Account; go online before then so StitchWing can check your renewal, or it returns to Free (or the Own It features you also own). Your patterns always open and print offline. More in Help.

Can I sell the patterns I design in StitchWing?

Yes. The patterns you make are yours. The License agreement has the details, including limits on the content that comes with StitchWing.

Does StitchWing design the pattern for me?

No. You design it; StitchWing draws the chart at your gauge, matches colors to real yarn, and writes out your rows.
