Read rows aloud
StitchWing can read your written rows out loud, one row (or one color) at a time, so your eyes stay on your work. Reading aloud comes with the paid plans.
Needs a paid plan.
Start reading
Open Instructions and press the speaker button (Read aloud) at the top of the panel. StitchWing reads the row that's highlighted, with stitch names said in full ("single crochet", never "sc").
A bar above the rows shows what's being read, with big Back, Next row, Repeat and Pause buttons. Press the speaker button again, or the × on the bar, to stop.
Hands-free keys
While it's reading: Space, N, → or a page-turner reads the next row, B goes back, R repeats and P pauses. Esc stops reading.
Voice and speed
Press Voice and speed on the bar to choose the voice, make it slower or faster, hear One color at a time, and say colors by name or by letter. Try it plays a sample. Your choice is remembered for you, not saved in the chart.
If no voices are available, follow the message to add one. On Windows, open Settings › Time & language › Speech. Your written rows are not sent anywhere when read aloud. See Privacy.
Voice commands
Say "next", "back", "repeat", "pause", "go on" or "stop listening" while StitchWing reads, or hold the mic button (or the M key) and say one. Allow microphone access when your computer asks.
Use English voice commands on Windows. On a Mac, voice commands work only when your computer supports listening in your chosen language without the internet. If listening is unavailable, use Next row, Back, Repeat or Pause instead. Nothing you say is recorded or sent anywhere. See Privacy.
