Measure a swatch and match a skein
Use a photo as a starting point, then check the result yourself.

Measure your swatch
Choose Measure my swatch from a photo from the gauge controls. Photograph a flat swatch beside a ruler from straight above. Place the markers on two ruler marks and enter their distance, then cover whole stitches and rows. Check and correct the suggested counts before Use this gauge.
Match your skein
In the Color tab, choose Match to my skein…. Photograph the yarn on white paper, choose the paper and yarn in the photo, then find a shade or set the color.
If the result looks wrong
Try a sharper, evenly lit photo without shadows. Fuzzy or textured yarn is hard to count. Count your own swatch and compare the match with a real skein: both results are approximate.
