If StitchWing closes unexpectedly
Recovery copies are a safety net for unsaved work. After an unexpected close, StitchWing offers to restore the copies it kept.
What recovery is
StitchWing keeps a recovery copy of unsaved work as you go. It’s a safety net, not a guarantee: a crash or power cut may lose recent changes. Use Save to keep your work in a chart file. The copy is kept apart from your saved patterns and doesn’t count toward the free saved-pattern limit.
If the recovery copy can’t be updated
A warning says StitchWing could not update this design’s recovery copy. Save your work now. Choose Save or Save somewhere else…. Until the warning clears, don’t assume recent changes are protected.
When you open it again
StitchWing offers the work it kept: Restore, Discard or Restore all. Restore opens the work; press Save to keep it. If you close the window without choosing, nothing is deleted: the charts wait under Recovered on the start screen until you open them or let them go. Closing a restored chart that isn’t saved asks Save, Don’t save or Cancel.
Help us fix it
Send a crash report in the same window shows what’s in it before anything is sent: see Report a problem from the app. If it keeps happening, email support@stitchwing.com and tell us what you were doing.
